Advancing technology brought new tools that allowed much better results. First there was GraphicConverter. Later, Photoshop and Poser became my main graphics tools. The ease with which images could be created and modified astonished me. As each image was completed, it would suggest a story line. On the Mermaid's Tail site, you'll notice many of my images have an associated story. Sometimes short, sometimes long but always the image would tell its tail. Hopefully, I'll be able to fill the gaps over the coming months.
I'm not a professional artist by any means. My profession is that of Computer Science instructor at Grant MacEwan Community College in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. For those of you wondering why I'm not producing quite so many images and stories of late, you can put it down to increasing age (I'm 50 now) and increasing workload (I see hundreds of new faces every semester). I still enjoy creating my art and stories and will continue to do so as long as I'm able. Then, who knows, technology may advance even further and I'll find new tools to delight.
